Bannerman’s Castle looks like a medieval ruin

Bannerman’s Castle looks like a medieval ruin somewhere in Europe.
But it's in New York.

This ruin offer rich history and panoramic views of the Hudson Valley.
The Bannerman Castle Trust Inc. provides a public tour of Bannerman Castle and Pollepel Island.
http://www.bannermancastle.org/index.html

This tour consists of the following:
  • A 30-minute boat ride on the Estuary Steward over to Bannerman Island
  • A guided walking tour of the island in which you will visit the famous Bannerman Castle.
  • A visit to the Bannerman Garden and Bannerman Residence, where you'll learn about all things Bannerman!
  • A return trip back on the Estuary Steward to Beacon where it all began.

Getting there
Take the Hudson Line to Beacon Station.  Meet for your tour at the Beacon Institute Dock (first dock as you drive down to waterfront on the left).  Dock is just south of the Metro North Dock across from the train station.  Check here for an ITINERARYTrolley service provided between Beacon Station and Cold Spring.
